Air is likely to remain in very poor category in Delhi till Thursday

There has been partial improvement in the air due to increase in wind speed and change in direction. However, the air quality remains in the very poor category. On Monday, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 356, which is in the very poor category. AQI remained in severe category in three areas. The air in 30 areas was very bad. Also, wind was recorded in moderate category in one area. The overall air quality remained in very poor category. According to the Meteorological Department, the same situation will continue till Thursday.

According to the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), on Monday the wind blew from the south-east direction at an average speed of four kilometers per hour. At the same time, on Tuesday the wind will blow from the south-east direction. During this period the wind speed is expected to be four kilometers per hour. On Wednesday the wind may blow from south-east direction. The speed is expected to be four to six km. The wind is expected to blow from the south-east direction on Thursday. During this period the wind speed is expected to be six to 12 km per hour.

Rohini remained the most polluted area

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air in three areas was recorded in the severe category. Among these, Rohini recorded the highest index. The AQI here was 409. 402 were recorded in Sonia Vihar, 401 in Wazirpur. Also, air remained in very poor category in 30 areas. The index was 398 in Jahangirpuri, 395 in Mundka, 392 in Bawana and Punjabi Bagh, 383 in DTU and 382 in Narela. At the same time, the air in one area remained beyond 200 AQI. Among these, Dilshad Garden’s index was recorded at 287. Also, the wind of Lodhi Road remained in moderate category. Pollution was 176.

Faridabad’s air is the least polluted

According to CPCB, Faridabad recorded the lowest air quality index in NCR. The AQI here was 205, which is a poor category. AQI was recorded at 339 in Greater Noida, 293 in Ghaziabad, 286 in Noida and 255 in Gurugram.
