Sarfaraz could not make it to the playing eleven in the Test series against Bangladesh. After which he was released from the team from the second test match. After being released from Team India, Sarfaraz scored a double century for Mumbai against the remaining eleven in the Irani Cup. After scoring a double century in Lucknow, Sarfaraz said that he had promised his younger brother Mushir Khan that he would score a double century in this match. Musheer was also a part of the Mumbai team in the Irani Cup but he was out of the team after a road accident.
26-year-old right-handed batsman Sarfaraz Khan played an unbeaten inning of 222 runs in this match. Due to which Mumbai scored 537 runs in the first innings. Musheer, who was in great form, was coming to Lucknow by car with his father Naushad Khan to participate in this match but his car met with an accident. Sarfaraz said after the third day’s play, ‘Yes, it has been an emotional week for me. I had promised my family and teammates that if I managed to spend some time at the crease, I would score 200. The veteran batsman of domestic cricket said, ‘If he (Musheer) had been a part of this match, Abbu would have been very proud. Unfortunately he met with an accident. In such a situation, I thought that I will try to score a double century in this match. Sarfaraz said that he has talked to his brother who is seven years younger than him. Sarfaraz is a part of the Indian team while Musheer is also knocking on the door for this.
