Kolkata. Hurt by Pakistan’s poor performance in the World Cup, head coach Grant Bradburn blamed the ‘unfamiliar’ Indian conditions. Pakistan team is on the verge of being out of the race for the semi-finals after four consecutive defeats. To maintain the hopes of reaching the last-four, the team will have to win its remaining three matches by a big margin and hope that the results of other teams also remain as per their expectations.
“We are in a situation where we did not want to be,” Pakistan chief Ko Bradburn said on the eve of Tuesday’s match against Bangladesh. At this stage of the tournament we are determined to control our destiny but we are not able to do so. This has disappointed the team. For us this tournament is in foreign conditions. None of our players have played here before. Every place is new for us, including this one (Kolkata).
Bradburn said that his team has completed its preparations properly. “We have made our preparations carefully regarding the rival teams and the match venue. We are very well prepared for each match. The reality for us here is that every venue is new to us and we do not feel deprived at all in terms of understanding, quality, skill and support of the players.
