Johannesburg. The South African team got the success it had been waiting for in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The former captain and cricketer are extremely happy with this historic success of the team. Graeme Smith and Dale Steyn, who have suffered the pain of losing important matches in ICC tournaments, are overjoyed after South Africa reached the final of the T20 World Cup.

South Africa entered the final by winning a one-sided match against Afghanistan. After winning the toss, Rashid Khan chose to bat first but the pace trio of Kagiso Rabada, Enrique Norkhia and Marco Jansen broke the back of the batting in the beginning. After losing 6 wickets for 28 runs, the team was all out for just 56 runs in 11.5 overs. South Africa won by losing 1 wicket in 8.5 overs and confirmed its place in the final of an ICC event for the first time.

South Africa defeated Afghanistan by 9 wickets in the semi-finals and made it to the finals where it will face either India or England. Former captain Smith tagged current captain Aiden Macram on Instagram and wrote, “We have reached the finals. I am very happy for you and the team. Just one more win.”

Steyn, the top fast bowler of his time, wrote, “I am very emotional. We are in the final. It feels great to see this. I am overwhelmed.”
