Amit Kumar/Samastipur: A car washer in Patori town of Samastipur district of Bihar has done an amazing feat by buying material from a junk shop and making a battery-operated bike from it. Now the need for expensive petrol in this bike has ended. This feat of Jugaad technology shows that even after challenges, if a person is determined, he can do anything. His electric bike is now running at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour. The talent of the person who made the electric bike is being discussed in the entire Samastipur district.

The person who made the electric motorcycle is only 20 years old. One of the special features of this motorcycle is that it can be started without a key or switch. It starts with a remote. Once the motorcycle is charged, it can easily cover a distance of more than 50 kilometers. A digital meter has been provided to check how much battery charge is there in the vehicle.

What the artisans say
Talking to Local 18, Mohammad Riyaz, a young artisan who made the electric motorcycle, said that he was worried about the rising price of petrol and the burden it puts on people’s pockets. This gave him the idea of making a motorcycle that does not require both petrol and diesel. After collecting materials from nearby junk dealers, Riyaz successfully made the motorcycle.

To enhance the look of the bike, he bought accessories like digital meter, battery voltmeter, LED indicators and LED headlights online. The total cost of preparing the bike was between Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000. If the electric bike was bought from a showroom, its cost would have reached at least Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000.
