Recently, one such strange secret has been revealed by French archaeologists. There is a 5th and 6th century place in Villedieu-sur-Indre in central France, where France’s National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research has discovered many skeletons.

According to the Guardian website, skeletons of about 28 ancient horses (France 28 horses in grave) have been recovered from these 9 graves which are 2000 years old. Archaeologists claim that the horses (Ancient horse grave) were buried in a pattern. Looking at them, it seems that they were sacrificed in the name of some ritual. These 28 horses must have been about 6 years old at the time of death. They must have been buried here just a few moments after their death. The horses were buried on their right side and their heads were facing south.

Skeletons of dogs along with horses
There was another grave nearby, which contained two dogs with their heads facing west. According to the report, carbon dating revealed that these skeletons were from the Gallic War, which took place during the early period of the ancient Roman Empire, which was fought between 100 BC and 100 AD. Experts said that they are also checking the skeletons for germs and viruses, so that they can find out whether they died due to any disease. Only male horses have been found, due to which there is less suspicion of disease.

Scientists came up with two theories
Scientists have also given a theory that the animals must have died in a war and were buried here. However, it is also being speculated that they must have been sacrificed for some ritual. Archaeologists have said that both the theory of the Roman Empire as well as the theory of rituals seem to be correct to a large extent. However, the exact reason for their death could not be ascertained.
