Chhattisgarh Anti Corruption Bureau action two officials caught red handed in bribe case

Chhattisgarh News: The Anti Corruption Bureau in Chhattisgarh has taken a tough stand on bribery on Friday. Major action was taken in the Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur (MCB) and Surguja districts of the state.

The ACB team arrested two officials while taking bribe. The accused include accountant Satyendra Sinha and village revenue officer Virendra Pandey. Satyendra Sinha is posted as accountant in the office of Manendragarh Janpad Panchayat.

Virendra Pandey, who was caught by the ACB, is a revenue officer of Bhittikala village in Surguja district. Officials said that a bill of Rs 2.88 lakh was pending for the street light installed in Lalpur Gram Panchayat under DMF fund. Rs 19,000 was demanded from the Sarpanch for approval of the bill. The Sarpanch complained to the ACB about the bribe being demanded. During verification, the complainant’s allegations were found to be true. The ACB team lying in wait caught accountant Satyendra Sinha red-handed while taking bribe.

There is no mercy for corrupt officials!

Officials said that Revenue Officer Virendra Pandey had also demanded five thousand rupees. The complainant said that his father had passed away. The family has ancestral property in Bhittikala village. There was a need to register the ancestral property in the revenue records in the name of the mother and four brothers. The victim contacted the village revenue officer.

ACB arrested two

He demanded five thousand rupees in exchange for registering the ancestral property in the revenue records. The complainant brought the matter to the notice of the ACB. The ACB team acted on the complaint and arrested Village Revenue Officer Virendra Pandey. Officials said that a case has been registered against both the accused under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
