Israel Air Strikes On Lebanon: Israel carried out two major attacks on Lebanon in the last two days. First there was a pager blast on Tuesday (17 September 2024) and then there were blasts in walkie-talkies, solar panels, fingerprint devices and radios on Wednesday (18 September 2024), in which many people have been reported dead. Hezbollah chief Nasrallah was giving a speech on Thursday (19 September 2024) regarding the pager and walkie-talkie blasts. As soon as the Hezbollah chief’s speech ended, Israel started attacking Lebanon again. Israeli air strikes simultaneously targeted several settlements in southern Lebanon.
Eliminating terrorism- IDF
The IDF posted on Twitter, “We are currently attacking Hezbollah’s targets in Lebanon to destroy its terrorist capabilities and infrastructure. For decades, Hezbollah has weaponized civilian homes, dug tunnels underneath them, and used civilians as human shields, turning southern Lebanon into a war zone. The IDF is working to bring security to northern Israel to enable residents to return to their homes.”
Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was giving a speech on Thursday for the first time after thousands of explosions on radio and pager. According to the report of news agency Reuters, when Nasrallah was giving a speech, the sound of Israeli fighter planes shook the buildings of Beirut.
Walkie-talkies and pagers banned at Beirut airport
Israel has remained silent about its involvement in the pager and walkie-talkie attacks. It has neither confirmed nor denied any responsibility. However, several security sources have indicated that the operation was carried out by the country’s intelligence agency Mossad. According to a Reuters report, after the attacks on Wednesday, Lebanese authorities have banned carrying walkie-talkies and pagers on flights from Beirut airport.
