Samastipur Flood News: Flood conditions are being seen in different districts of Bihar. Flood conditions are once again developing in Mohanpur, Mohiuddinnagar and Vidyapatinagar blocks of Samastipur due to the rapid rise in the water level of Ganga and tributary Baya river. The water of Ganga river has started entering many houses and schools. Many rooms of the school have been submerged. Traffic has also been disrupted due to water on the roads in the Diara area. Currently, the water level of Ganga is at 47.05 meters, which is 1.55 meters above the danger mark.
Many villages were submerged in water even in August
Due to this, normal life has been disrupted once again due to the flooding of Ganga water in half a dozen villages of four panchayats of Vidyapatinagar block. The water level of Ganga was rising for the last three days. There was a possibility of flood due to this. People have already taken shelter in high places to avoid the flood. However, many people are still in their homes. This is the second time this year that Ganga has flooded. Earlier in August also, villages were submerged. However, the problem of flood was resolved after two days due to decrease in water level.
Due to the rapid rise in the water level of Ganga and Baya river for the last three days, Ganga water has entered about half a dozen villages in the Diara area of Sherpur Dhepura, Mau Dhaneshpur Dakshin, Balkrishnapur Madwa and Wajidpur Panchayat of Vidyapatinagar block. All the roads passing through the villages are completely submerged, due to which people are not leaving their houses.
The biggest problem faced by livestock farmers
People surrounded by the waters of the Ganges said that due to the non-availability of boats in sufficient numbers, there is a problem of food and water. The cattle herders are facing the most problems. Animal fodder is not available. The attendance of children has been affected due to flooding in the schools of the Diara region. Half-yearly examinations of children from class one to eight are being conducted since last Wednesday. Due to this, children are somehow reaching school.
In this regard, Jitesh Ranjan, Assistant Engineer posted at Sarari Camp of Flood Control Division Dalsinghsarai, said that the water level of Ganga has started receding in Allahabad, but the water level is rising from Varanasi to Patna. At present, the anti-erosion bunds and embankments on the banks of Mohanpur Ganga river are completely safe. The department is keeping a vigil on this day and night.
