Sachin Pilot On One Nation One Election: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the recommendations of the Kovind Committee on ‘One Nation, One Election’. The committee constituted under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind had recommended the proposal to the President on March 14, 2024. Draupadi Murmu had submitted its report to the government. After getting the approval from the Modi cabinet, reactions of various opposition leaders are coming out on this. Meanwhile, former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot said that this is being brought only to divert the attention of the public.
Sachin Pilot said, “There are many issues like One Nation One Election which the Government of India tries to bring and ultimately they have to take a U-turn because they are forced to do so due to lack of numbers in the Parliament. This is one of those issues which is being brought only to divert the attention of the people.

‘Will have to take a U-turn’
Sachin Pilot further said, “Today is the first phase of voting in Jammu and Kashmir. They are lagging behind in the state like Haryana. So I think they are talking about this issue to divert people’s mind. It is not possible for them to do this with the current equation of Parliament, but they have passed it in the cabinet. They have taken U-turns before. There will be a U-turn from their side on this too.”
