Himachal Pradesh News: The government led by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is going to bring a horticulture policy soon. Himachal Pradesh will become the first state in the country to bring a horticulture policy. It is being claimed that 82 thousand 500 people will be given employment in the state through the horticulture policy. A project worth Rs 1,292 crore will be started in seven districts of the state. Under the project, plants will be planted in two phases on six thousand hectares of land. The plants will include guava-lemon, pomegranate, dragon fruit, jamun and jackfruit.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s intention is to ensure that farmers get better prices for their crops. He has directed the Horticulture Department to use information technology and modern techniques in the project.

Under the project, four thousand hectares of land will be covered in the first phase and two thousand hectares in the second phase. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu expects the project to produce 1.30 lakh metric tonnes by the year 2032. He said that there will be a trade of about Rs 230 crore every year. The project will provide direct and indirect employment to 82 thousand 500 people of the state.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the government is working in the interest of the gardeners. Recently, the state government has also decided to sell apples in universal cartons. The gardeners are benefiting greatly from the government’s decision. Earlier, the gardeners had to face problems due to not getting the right price in every apple season. Now the gardeners are getting the fruits of their hard work on a per kg basis. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that Himachal Pradesh will become a fruit state. The government has intensified its efforts. Horticulture policy is also an important step in this direction.
