In the case of threatening to blow up the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh and Bhagalpur police arrested Mohammad Maqsood Ansari from Bhagalpur in a joint operation. Maqsood is a resident of Masjid Gali, Badi Khanjarpur, Bhagalpur. He was arrested from his residence. Four mobile phones have been recovered from the accused. The threat was made from one of these phones. It has also come to light that the arrested accused has contact with Mohammad Aamir, a member of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed.
The UP police team has taken the accused with them to Ayodhya. Bhagalpur SSP Anand Kumar said that Ansari was an accused in some case in Ayodhya, whom the Ayodhya police arrested and took with them. According to sources, the accused’s Facebook profile revealed that he had been sharing anti-national posts for the past several days.
The mother of the arrested Maqsood says that her son is innocent and he was only talking about a job. According to the mother, Maqsood had applied for a job in Chandigarh. He was preparing to go abroad. But, before that he was arrested.
Police brought to Ayodhya
Four mobile phones have been recovered from the accused. The mobile phone from which the threat was given has also been recovered. The police reached Ayodhya on Saturday with the accused arrested in Bihar. Intelligence officials questioned him on the suspicion of his links with a terrorist organization. Senior officials also interrogated the accused in several phases and gathered information.
Ram Janmabhoomi police station in-charge Devendra Pandey said that a case was registered in the matter of threatening on August 22 and the accused was being searched. Various police teams were deployed for this work. After being arrested, the accused has been sent to jail.
