Chhattisgarh News: The long-standing demand of Bastar residents for a trauma center in the biggest government hospital of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division does not seem to be fulfilled, due to which the Bastar residents as well as the soldiers posted on the Naxal front are facing a lot of health-related problems. In fact, due to the absence of a trauma center, the soldiers injured in police-Naxalite encounters and IED blasts have to be referred to Raipur, but during this, many times the soldiers die on the way.

For the last 4 years, a trauma center building has been constructed in Dimrapal hospital, but it has not been started yet, the equipment has also not been installed here yet, even after Bastar collector Vijay Dayaram gave orders to start the trauma center, the facility of the trauma center has not been started yet, and there is no information yet about when the injured will be able to get treatment in this trauma center.

The previous government had announced to build a trauma center
In fact, to improve the most important health facility in a backward area like Bastar, the Congress government had announced to gift a trauma center in the biggest government hospital of Bastar, but this gift has not been given to the people of Bastar even after the formation of the new government,  it is believed that we may have to wait more for this.

Treatment is not available due to absence of trauma center
Actually, due to absence of trauma center in Bastar, the most problem is faced by the soldiers posted on the Naxal front, who are getting injured in encounters with Naxalites and in the grip of Naxalite IED blasts. Apart from this, patients seriously injured in road accidents are also not getting treatment due to absence of trauma center in Bastar. Hospital management says that the construction of trauma center building has been completed and it will be inaugurated soon but it has not been decided yet when the injured will be able to get treatment in the trauma center.

Here the patients injured in road accidents and soldiers injured in encounters are not getting treatment here, due to which the hospital built at the cost of crores of rupees has become a referral center, many times seriously injured soldiers have to be referred for treatment, and during this many soldiers die on the way, while seriously injured patients in road accidents also die on the way due to the absence of a trauma center.

Dimrapal hospital becomes referral centre
It is worth mentioning that Bastar is suffering from Naxalism for the last 4 decades and more than one lakh paramilitary forces are deployed on Naxal front in the entire Bastar division, soldiers are getting injured in encounters with Naxalites every day in the interior areas, not only this, they also get caught in the IEDs planted by Naxalites, soldiers get only initial treatment in the police camp, after which they are taken to the district hospital and due to not getting better treatment there also, they are referred to the capital Raipur by air ambulance, but many times the soldiers die halfway.

At the same time, patients injured in road accidents in Bastar division are also referred to other states or the capital Raipur due to not getting timely treatment. In view of this problem, Bastar residents have been demanding for a long time to build a trauma center in the government hospital of Jagdalpur. Dimrapal Hospital Superintendent Dr. Anurup Sahu said that a 20-bed trauma center building has been built in the hospital premises, although due to the Corona period, it took a long time to build it, but now the work has been expedited. Efforts are being made to start this trauma center as soon as possible.
