MP Weather Update: This time the monsoon has been very kind to Madhya Pradesh. Recently, the rain has been continuing in the entire state. If we talk about the average rainfall in the month of July, till now it has rained 3 percent more than the target.

On the other hand, the weather department has issued an alert of heavy rain in 15 districts of the state today. Due to the rain, Kolar and Bargi dams have also filled up. The administration has appealed to the general public to stay away from the Narmada coastal areas.

Madhya Pradesh has a target of 16 inches of rain till Sunday (28 July), compared to which 16.5 inches of rain has been received so far. This is 3 percent more than the average rainfall. Due to the heavy rains in the state, the rivers and ponds have become full, while on the other hand the water in the dams is also continuously increasing.

Rain alert in these districts today
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in 15 districts of the state today. These include Mandsaur, Neemuch, Agar Malwa, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Indore, Barwani, Khargone, Pandhurna, Chhindwara, Seoni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Raisen, Sagar. While the rest of the districts including Gwalior, Bhopal, Ujjain will receive light to moderate rain.

Kolar dam gates can be opened
Under the Kolar project, the water level of Kolar Dam Veerpur has increased to 458.42 meters and the water level is continuously increasing. Executive Engineer of Kolar Canal Division Harsha Jainwal informed that after the level of Kolar Dam reaches 458.70 meters, the gates of the dam can be opened at any time.

The general public has been informed about this. People have been told not to carry out any kind of activities in the coastal areas affected by the Kolar river and move to safer places.

Bargi dam also became full
The water level of Bargi Dam under Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi Sagar Project has reached 417.30 meters. Soon its water level will reach 418 meters.

According to SB Singh, Chief Engineer of Bargi Dam, there is a possibility of opening the gates of the dam by 29th July and even before that in case of heavy rainfall. The administration has appealed to the general public to maintain adequate distance from the banks of the Narmada river.
