Students will have to pay increased fees from the upcoming academic session 2024-25 in Delhi University. After the approval of the Vice Chancellor, the recommendations of the Fee Revision Committee were kept as a reporting item in the Executive Council meeting of DU on Saturday. After the protest of EC members, the fee hike was not withdrawn. In this way, now students will have to pay increased fees on admission in B.Tech program, five-year Integrated Law Program (BA LLB, BBA LLB), Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP), for foreign students, PhD and NCWEB (Non Collegiate Women’s Education Board). In B.Tech course, the fee will increase for the next four years.

Executive Council member Aman Kumar said that the fee hike was placed in the EC but it has not been withdrawn. In this way, the fees will increase from the upcoming academic session. If we look at this year’s fee structure of B.Tech, there will be an annual increase of eight thousand rupees in the fees. At present, the annual fee of B.Tech is 216000, which will be increased to 224000. While the current fee in the law program is 190000, which will increase to 199700. At the same time, the fee of NCWEB’s BA and BCom program which was 3200-3600, will increase to 7130 rupees. At the same time, the proposal to name the building after the donors has been dropped in the meeting.
The 1270th meeting of the Executive Council (EC) of Delhi University was held on Saturday. The meeting which started in the morning ended after 8 pm. At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh presented the accounts of the university. The Vice Chancellor said that under the FSS scheme, financial assistance of more than Rs 1 crore, 20 lakh has been given to 1669 students. During the meeting, the report of the committee constituted for 12 colleges was tabled. The report said that these 12 colleges are an integral part of DU.
