Money and some jewelery were hidden in the locker. But after a year, when she opened the locker, she was shocked to see it. The entire money had been eaten away by termites.
This came to light when the bank called the woman for renewal of locker agreement and KYC. When the woman opened the locker, the notes and jewelery worth Rs 18 lakh kept in a plastic bag had been eaten away by termites. After which the woman lost her senses. When the woman complained about this to the bank manager, there was a stir. And whoever is finding out that termites have eaten away Rs 18 lakh is biting his teeth.
Woman’s locker was in Ashiana branch
A locker of Alka Pathak, a resident of Moradabad, in the Ashiana branch of Bank of Baroda. Alka had kept Rs 18 lakh in her locker in the Ashiana branch of Bank of Baroda in October last year. Alka says that her elder daughter got married last year. At that time his guests had given money in envelopes as an omen. Alka had also deposited Rs 18 lakh by including the fees received from her business and tuition. After this, in October 2022, about Rs 18 lakh and jewelery were kept in a bag and deposited in the bank locker.
Bank investigation continues
Lead District Manager Vishal Dixit said that information has been received that a woman’s money has been eaten away by termites. This is being investigated. With this, the first such case has come to notice. And investigation is being done on this subject.
