Senior BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh state president Prabhat Jha breathed his last on Thursday morning at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon. Coming from Bihar, he started his career in Madhya Pradesh as a reporter in a media organization. With his combative and struggling personality, he rose from the ground to the top in his career. It is said that he had such a hold on the leaders and media in Bhopal that former CM Uma Bharti started feeling uncomfortable. It is said that due to this he was sent from Bhopal to Delhi. After this he returned to Madhya Pradesh as the state president of BJP.

Prabhat Jha came to JC Mill area of ​​Gwalior with a relative in his childhood. As soon as he came there, he came in contact with people associated with BJP and RSS. Soon he became close to JC Mill area leader Bhau Saheb Potnis and lived with him. His place of residence used to be the BJP office. Prabhat Jha studied BSc from PGV College in Gwalior and Political Science from Madhav College. After this, he studied law from LLB College. In 1986, he married Ranjana Jha in Bihar. After marriage, he started living in a rented house and started journalism in Swadesh newspaper.

In 1993, he was made the media in-charge

At that time, there was a Congress government in Madhya Pradesh and BJP was struggling for power. Kushabhau Thakre was in charge in Madhya Pradesh and he was not getting space in the media. After this, he advised to establish a media center in the state. Thus, BJP established media centers in the state and the responsibility of Bhopal’s media center in-charge was given to Prabhat Jha. He created a different identity for the media center with his work. He used to provide information related to elections to journalists at one place, due to which journalists started coming and sitting at BJP’s media center. Jha was the media in-charge and spokesperson from 1993 to 2002.

Because of this Prabhat Jha was sent to Delhi

Senior journalist Devshree Mali says that when Uma Bharti was sent from Delhi to Madhya Pradesh, on her request, Prabhat Jha was sent from Bhopal to Delhi. The reason for this is said to be Prabhat Jha’s good hold with the media and leaders. From 2003 to 2005, Jha was the All India in-charge of literature and publications of BJP. After this, he was the editor of Kamal Sandesh from 2005.

Made a mark with his work in Delhi too

The party entrusted Prabhat Jha with the work of publication in Delhi. He turned this opportunity into an opportunity. He made a good hold with his working style and hard work and never looked back. After this, he kept moving up the ranks. When Rajnath Singh became the national president, he was made the national secretary of the organization in 2007. Just a year after this, in April 2008, he was sent to the Rajya Sabha. He was a member of the Standing Committee on Rural Development. From August 2009, he became a member of the Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology.

In 2010, he became the president of Madhya Pradesh BJP.

After not being re-elected to the Rajya Sabha, Prabhat Jha returned to Madhya Pradesh stronger. The party made him the state president of Madhya Pradesh BJP on 8 May 2010. He remained the state president till December 2012. After this, in 2015, he was made the national vice-president of the BJP.
