The wall of the basement of Aakash Hospital under construction in Dwarka Sector-12 area suddenly collapsed. A woman working there died in the accident, while nine workers were injured after being buried under the debris. The police reached the spot and with the help of the workers, pulled out all the workers from the debris and admitted them to Aakash Hospital in Dwarka Sector 3, where a woman named Devi was declared dead. The police is investigating the case by sending the woman’s body for post-mortem.

Police officials said that on Thursday evening, constable Suresh and Dilraj posted at Dwarka North police station were patrolling near the petrol pump in Dwarka Sector 12. They saw that a lot of people were gathered near the basement of the under-construction building of Aakash Hospital in Sector 12 Dwarka. On reaching there, it was found that the north-east wall of the under-construction basement had collapsed. After the incident, the workers did not inform the police and fire department about the incident and were themselves taking out the injured trapped in the debris.
After informing the senior officials about the incident, the policemen started rescue work. With the help of the workers present there, the police pulled out ten workers buried under the debris and immediately admitted all the injured to Akash Hospital in Sector 3 and Indira Gandhi Hospital in Sector 9. Doctors declared a woman dead in Indira Gandhi Hospital. It is being told that the woman had suffered serious head injuries. She has been identified as Devi (30). Her husband Santosh was also working here. He too has been injured after being hit by the wall.

The team reached the spot and investigated and collected evidence from there. The police officer said that construction work was going on in the basement of the hospital. The police officer said that after taking statements, a case of negligence will be registered.
Seven workers were discharged after treatment: Hospital administration
Aakash Hospital administration says that seven workers injured in the accident have been discharged after treatment. While two workers have been advised to be admitted for treatment. Both have to undergo surgery. In a statement issued by the hospital, it has been said that the management of the under-construction site is with LV Creations LLP. On Thursday, nine patients came to the emergency of Aakash Healthcare. They were examined, in which it was found that none of the nine injured was serious. All were given first aid. Out of which seven were discharged after complete examination. Two workers are undergoing treatment. The hospital administration says that the contractor has taken the responsibility of taking them to government trauma hospitals.
