Israel Hamas War: The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas is taking a destructive form. Many big countries around the world seem worried about this. This can be gauged from the fact that in this war that has lasted for 7 days so far, about 3200 people from both the sides have died and about 12 thousand people have been injured.
In the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, US President Joe Biden has promised unconditional support to Israel. However, his decision worries his government that the Israeli government is not prepared for the consequences of a major attack that could occur at any time. People familiar with the Biden administration’s stance say that the White House is afraid of what Israel will do next after attacking Gaza. Israel has no plan regarding this.
American administration’s pressure on Israel
The US administration is pressuring Israel to think beyond the immediate goal of eliminating Hamas. An official associated with the Biden administration informed on condition of anonymity that President Joe Biden’s team has also expressed concern about Israel’s demand, which orders the evacuation of northern Gaza within 24 hours. Regarding this, both the European Union and the United Nations say that this time limit is unrealistic. Soon after Israel made the demand, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby admitted that a long time would be given for evacuation in Gaza.
Joe Biden administration worried
The Biden administration appears to be worried about the situations that may arise due to its desire to support Israel. The reason behind this is said to be the punitive campaign in Gaza with no end in sight. Because of this, there is a danger of the worst crisis in Israel’s history in the last 50 years. Due to this, there is a possibility of regional conflict breaking out. After this, America and its allies will have to struggle to stop it.
However, so far the Biden administration has tried to show unwavering support to Israel. Israeli officials have described the Hamas attack as a 9/11 attack, and some, such as President Isaac Herzog, have rejected the notion that Palestinians could be innocent. “They could have fought against the evil regime that had taken over Gaza in a coup,” he said.
US Secretary of State visited
Joe Biden’s aides have avoided publicly questioning Israel’s strategy in the fight against Hamas, which the US and the European Union have designated a terrorist group. Biden said on Friday afternoon that people should not ignore the fact that the overwhelming majority of Palestinians have nothing to do with Hamas.
During this time, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Israel. In addition, he visited four countries on Thursday – because America wants to stop the spread of war and wants help in the release of hostages. While Blinken has urged Israel to take some precautions, he is focused on asking other countries to ensure the violence does not spread.
Israel needs a new plan
Seth Moulton, a Massachusetts Democrat and member of the House Armed Services Committee, said Israel needs a strategic plan for Gaza. The plan they have been implementing for the last several years is not working. Israel needs a long-term strategy for Gaza, which must be more effective than what they have been doing for the last 15 years.
