In fact, during a press conference in America, a Pakistani journalist had asked US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller a question related to the name plate order. In response to this question, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said that the Supreme Court of India has put a stay on the name plate order and no such rule is in effect now which can be questioned.

What order did the Yogi government give?
The Yogi government had ordered to put name plates on the shops on the Kanwar route in UP, under which all shopkeepers were asked to put name plates outside the shops. Shopkeepers were also asked to write their names on the name plate. This order was opposed a lot in the country, after which the Supreme Court put an interim stay on it.
BJP had to face opposition from its own people
NDA allies also protested strongly against the order of name plates on shops on the Kanwad route. JDU leader KC Tyagi, RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary and LJP leader Chirag Paswan were also among those who protested. At the same time, senior BJP minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi had raised questions on this decision.
