Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices LIVE: Asian markets opened lower on Thursday following a significant sell-off in US tech shares and a stronger yen. The Nikkei 225 dropped 2.58%, or 1,011.15 points, to 38,143.70, and the Topix fell 2.17%, or 60.55 points, to 2,732.57. South Korea’s KOSPI declined 1.78%, or 49.05 points, to 2,709.66. This decline was triggered by disappointing earnings from Alphabet and Tesla, which caused the S&P 500 and Nasdaq to hit multi-week lows. The S&P 500’s 2.31% drop was its worst one-day performance since December 2022, ending its 356-session streak without a daily decline of over 2%. The Nasdaq experienced its most significant single-day percentage decline since October 2022. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also fell, dropping 1.25%, or 504.22 points, to 39,853.87. The poor performance of the “Magnificent Seven” stocks had wide-reaching market repercussions.
