Bastar Malaria Case: There has been a malaria explosion in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district. More than 1500 malaria patients have been found in urban and rural areas. The number of women and children is the highest among them. Two people have died of malaria in Bastar district so far, which has created a ruckus in the entire health department. The rapidly increasing number of dengue and malaria patients has exposed the district administration’s claim of running a malaria-free campaign.

With the onset of rainy season, dengue and malaria have started wreaking havoc in Bastar, especially in rural areas, a large number of malaria infected patients are being found, out of 7 blocks of the district, malaria infected patients are being confirmed continuously in 4 blocks.

More than 1500 patients have been confirmed during malaria tests conducted in the last 6 months under the Malaria Free Campaign. Some of these patients are being treated in the sub-health centers of the villages. Patients from urban areas are being treated in hospitals. Some patients are being referred to other big cities for better treatment due to their critical condition.

Fogging and spraying of medicine is being done continuously
District Chief Health Officer Dr. R.K. Chaturvedi said that the health department team has set up medical camps in all the blocks of the district, and the villagers are being examined continuously here, fogging and spraying of medicine is also being done continuously and to protect the villagers from this serious disease, the health department staff is also constantly engaged in making the villagers aware, the district health officer said that the department has sufficient medicine and test kits and mosquito nets, which are being distributed.

The number of malaria patients is increasing continuously
At the same time, finding such a large number of malaria patients in Bastar district is definitely a matter of concern for the department, but the health officer says that better treatment is being given to the patients continuously. He said that during the investigation in rural and urban areas, the number of patients suffering from dengue and malaria may increase further. At present, the department is trying to control the situation and the health department has been completely alerted.
