Cabinet sub-committee member and Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani said that a large part of Himachal Pradesh’s budget is going towards paying loan installments and interest.

Cabinet sub-committee formed to improve economic health

The Technical Education Minister said, "There may be a need to take tough decisions to improve the economic condition of the state. A decision to cut down on free services can also be taken. The structure of the government should be like a pyramid. At present, it has been formed like an inverted pyramid."

He said that rationalization of officers in government departments is also the need of the hour. If there are 10 officers in the department, the number will be reduced as per the requirement. He said that in 16 years between 2006 and 2022, the number of class-one officers has increased by 62 percent.
