A woman has been charged over the death of a “doting father” in the Scottish Highlands.
Ross MacGillivray was found with serious injuries after police were called to a property in Inverness at around 12.10am on 12 November.
The 36-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and a murder investigation was launched following a post-mortem examination.
In an update on Tuesday, Police Scotland said a 32-year-old woman had been arrested and charged in the Portsmouth area in connection with Mr MacGillivray’s death.
A force spokesperson added: “Officers from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary carried out the arrest on behalf of Police Scotland.”
The woman will appear before Inverness Sheriff Court later this week following her transfer from England.

Two men, aged 21 and 29, were previously arrested and charged in connection with the case and appeared in the dock on 20 November.
The pair, separately of Liverpool and Ross and Cromarty, were charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

Following Mr MacGillivray’s death, his family said: “Ross was a loving husband, a doting father, loved by his family and friends and all who met him. He will be especially missed but definitely not forgotten.
“We love you to the moon, the stars, Jupiter and Mars.”
