A woman has told a unique story of how she changed her lifestyle by losing weight and also improving her financial life. She told how she was struggling to meet her expenses before becoming a Turkey-surgery influencer. She weighed 152 kg and was a size 26, but a decision to visit Turkey transformed her life and she has now become a successful social media influencer.
Lauren Evens, 31, from Chester, has always had difficulty managing her weight. The mother of three struggled with her physical and mental health. Due to her condition, Lauren had no choice but to claim Universal Credit and PIP (Personal Independence Payment). Desperate to get back on her feet, she found herself in and out of hospital.
That’s when Lauren decided to save the little money she had and booked a £2,300 trip to Turkey to have a gastric sleeve. And it changed her life forever. She went from being unemployed and overweight to a financially ‘comfortable’ turkey-surgery influencer who now even owns shares in a company.

Lauren has now spent £20,000 on the surgery. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, she said: “When I first started my journey to Turkey, I was dependent on government funding. Today Lauren has a combined 65,000 followers on TikTok and Instagram, where she regularly updates fans, mostly from the bariatric ‘community’, about her surgical efforts.
Lauren was then noticed by Turkish brands who are profiting from a new medical tourism industry that sees an estimated 1.2 million people visiting the Middle Eastern country annually for cosmetic work. And at a much lower price than people in the UK would expect to pay! Lauren has now partnered with a brand to promote their services and even has shares in the company. She has admitted that her life has completely changed.
