New Delhi. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, lakhs of people lost their jobs in the lockdown imposed in March last year and many lost their business. In such a dire situation, a couple working for an MP also ended up on the streets. Instead of giving up on losing their jobs, this couple continued to struggle.
Due to lack of money, the couple could not start a big business, so they stood up again on the basis of just rajma and rice. This couple is Karan Kumar and Amrita from Delhi, who through their strong determination not only pulled themselves out of the financial difficulties during the pandemic but also invented a new source of income for themselves.

Had to vacate the quarter under pressure from MP
According to a report by Brut India, Karan Kumar says that earlier he used to work as a driver for an MP. Meanwhile, he was fired from his job just a month after the nationwide lockdown. Karan says that while firing him from the job, the argument given was that the MP can no longer afford his expenses. Not only this, Karan had to vacate the quarter in which he used to live under pressure from the MP. After leaving the house, Karan and his wife had no other place to live, they also tried to ask for help from their relatives in this regard but nothing worked out.

On the suggestion of his wife, he planned to start his own business
Karan then started looking for other jobs, but it was almost impossible to get a job during that time. The financial crisis worsened so much that he had to go to the Gurudwara to eat food, while due to not having a house, he used his car to sleep at night. When the lockdown started getting a little easier, Karan asked a friend for a loan and rented a room in Faridabad area. After this, Amrita suggested to Karan that why not make some food items and sell them among the people, although during this time both of them were skeptical about how much people would trust coming out and eating.

Grocery items collected by selling some household items
Kumar sold some household items to buy groceries and thus the couple started their new innings. With the hope of being able to stand on their feet in this difficult time, they started selling rajma rice, kadhi rice and chole rice near Talkatora Lane in central Delhi. The first day was not good at all for Karan and Amrita, they earned only Rs 320, which was much less than their cost, but this did not deter their spirits. From the very next day, the number of people started increasing at their stall. Today the situation is such that Karan and Amrita are earning 2200 to 2400 rupees a day through this stall. Karan says that he is not looking for a job now, but is focusing completely on this stall.
