The Karnataka government has put on hold the draft bill on reservation for Kannadigas in the private sector. Meanwhile, state minister Priyank Kharge said that there is no question of withdrawing it. As a government, we are committed to providing more jobs locally. We will ensure that Karnataka provides a global workforce. At the same time, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have targeted the government.

Meanwhile, BJP state president BY Vijayendra said, “I don’t think Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is serious about protecting the interests of the people of Karnataka. So many scams are happening. They are using diversionary tactics. This shows that the Chief Minister is not serious. I urge the Chief Minister to take everyone into confidence and withdraw the bill.”

‘Be ready to face the anger of the people of Karnataka’

“Why did you bring a bill to give jobs to Karnataka people? Why did you put it on hold? Why play with the lives of Karnataka people? Do you need Karnataka people to insult? The government should introduce a bill to provide reservation in (private sector) jobs for Karnataka people. The bill will give hope to lakhs of unemployed people in rural areas, who are deprived of job opportunities despite their qualifications. Or else be ready to face the wrath of Karnataka people,” BJP state president B Y Vijayendra asked on ‘X’.

Vijayendra condemned the decision to stop the bill and called it a cowardly decision. He said that this insulted the people of Karnataka. The purpose of this bill is to provide employment to Kannada people.

State minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said, “The Chief Minister has given a statement based on some feedback. We will reconsider it. Whatever we want to do is in the interest of our people.” Minister G.
