Donald Trump Shooting: The attempt to assassinate former US President Donald Trump has shaken the world. Meanwhile, a big news has come out that a few weeks before the attack on Trump, US agencies had received intelligence from human sources that Iran was plotting to assassinate the former president. CNN gave this information quoting sources and said that as soon as the tip of the assassination was received, the Secret Service had tightened Trump’s security considerably.

However, sources have made it clear that Thomas Matthew Crooks, the attacker who attacked Trump on Saturday (July 13), had nothing to do with Iran. No connection has been found between the shooting of Trump and Iran. Now the Secret Service itself is under fire because it knew that Trump could be attacked. Despite this, adequate security arrangements were not made and the former president was attacked in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The election campaign and the secret service had the intelligence information!

A US National Security official said the Secret Service and Trump’s campaign were aware of the intelligence ahead of Saturday’s rally. “The Secret Service was informed about the threat from its intelligence sources. The National Security Council contacted the Secret Service to ensure that they were receiving all information related to Trump’s security. Trump’s campaign was also informed about the emerging threat,” the official said.

The official further said, “In view of the threat to Trump’s life, the Secret Service had started deploying more and more soldiers for the security of the former President. All this was being done even before the attack on Saturday.” Trump’s election campaign has not yet revealed whether they knew about the attack. A statement said, “We cannot comment on Trump’s security. All questions should be asked to the Secret Service.”

What did the Security Council say?

The FBI, which is investigating the attack on Trump, has also refused to comment on the intelligence information. Meanwhile, Security Council spokesperson Adrian Watson said that at present there is no connection between the attacker Thomas Matthew Crooks and anyone else. He said, “The attack on Trump is under investigation. At this time, the investigating agency has said that their investigation has not identified any ties between the shooter and any accomplices or co-conspirators, foreign or domestic.”

What did Iran say about the attack on the former President?

Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations has denied that there was any Iranian plot to assassinate Trump. A spokesperson said, “These allegations are baseless and malicious. From Iran’s point of view, Trump is a criminal who should be tried and punished in court for ordering the killing of General Soleimani. Iran has chosen the legal route to bring him to justice.” Trump ordered the killing of Iran’s top general Qasem Soleimani in 2020.
