The farmers who have been protesting on the Punjab-Haryana border since February have announced to march to Delhi after the High Court’s orders. Jagjit Singh Dallewal, a non-political member of the United Kisan Morcha, said that he will march to Delhi as soon as the Shambhu border opens. He has ration for six months. He has appealed to the central government that he should be allowed to protest peacefully at Jantar Mantar or Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. If the government tries to stop him anywhere on the way, he will start a dharna there, the responsibility of which will be entirely of the government. Dallewal was addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on Tuesday along with other farmer leaders.

He said that they will march with tractor trolleys because trolleys are the only option they have to escape from rain, heat and cold. Ready-to-move houses have been prepared in them. He said that the march may take some time because it will take time to pack the goods. But he is adamant on marching to Delhi because he had started his movement for this only. Special preparations are being made for this in the villages. A large group of farmers from Punjab’s Bathinda and Haryana’s Sirsa are reaching Khanauri border.

He said that he is not demanding anything from the central government, rather he is protesting to get the promises made by the government fulfilled. He alleged that the government is not ready to open the border, whereas clear orders have been issued by the High Court in this regard. The Haryana government has reached the Supreme Court. Even the security is being increased on the border as before. He said that after the High Court’s decision, it has become clear that the road has been blocked not by the farmers but by the BJP government and if the Haryana government still does not open the road, then the traders should also support the farmers and protest against the BJP. He said that 300 meters of the border area falls on the Punjab side, so the order to open the border is also for the Punjab government.

On the 17th, we will gherao the Ambala SP office

Dallewal said that they are also planning to gherao the Ambala SP office on Wednesday. They will gather in the Anaj Mandi on Wednesday morning and will march towards the SP office only after that. They are gheraoing the people for the release of young farmer Navdeep Singh Jalbera and their protest will continue on Thursday as well. Haryana is trying to mislead on the death of Shubhkaran due to shotgun. Haryana Police has also been using shotgun. An attempt is being made to save the accused in the entire case.

It is not appropriate to hand over the investigation to Haryana police officers

Farmer leaders said that it is not appropriate to hand over the investigation of Shubkaran Singh’s murder to Haryana police officers, because the Haryana police officers themselves are accused. If the accused will investigate, then there is little hope of getting justice. He said that the BJP government of Haryana has already gone to the Supreme Court and opposed the independent investigation of Shubkaran Singh’s murder, which made their intentions clear, so they cannot trust the Haryana Police on the issue of investigation. During this, the leaders also presented the mortars, tear gas shells and shot gun bullets used in the conflict in the press conference. Also shared the video of police action. Alleged that farmers were attacked in plain clothes. Also, expired tear gas was used and mortars were also fired at them. He is placing all these things before the commission formed for investigation.

Tractor march on August 15, conference in Delhi on July 22

Dallewal said that a decision has also been taken to take out a tractor march on August 15. He said that this tractor march will be taken out across the country. Before this, on July 22, a joint conference of the United Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha will be held in New Delhi. Both the fronts have written letters to meet all the opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav and will meet them and demand to bring a private bill on all the demands of the farmers including the MSP guarantee law in the upcoming session of Parliament. In the coming days, the officials of both the fronts will go door to door in Haryana and make farmers and laborers aware. On September 15, a national level Kisan Mahapanchayat will be held in Haryana, in which lakhs of farmers will participate. Surjit Singh Phool, Abhimanyu Kohad, Amarjit Mohri, Tejveer Singh, Malkit Singh, Gurinder Bhanghu, Gurdas Lakkadwali and Guramneet Singh Mangat were also present during the press conference.
