Now it has come to light that Pooja Khedkar was given a disability certificate in August 2022. Pooja Khedkar had applied for it online in the year 2022. She was examined on August 24 of the same year and experts found that she had seven percent locomotor disability in her left knee, according to which she was issued a certificate.
Giving an official statement, Dean of Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, Dr. Rajendra Wabale said that the benchmark disability is 40 percent. That is, if 40 percent disability is confirmed, one can avail the benefits of government facilities. Pooja Khedkar has been given a disability certificate of seven percent. This is considered equivalent to not having any kind of disability. In such a situation, she cannot be given any facility by the government.

Media reports have claimed that Pooja Khedkar was given a certificate of visual disability in 2018 from the district hospital of Ahmednagar. At the same time, a certificate of mental disability was also issued for her in the year 2021. Even after this, Pooja applied for a disability certificate in Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital and District Hospital in Pune in the year 2022.
Cannot apply more than once
Dr. Rajendra Wabale said that once the certificate is issued, it cannot be applied for again. This can happen only when the Social Welfare Department has given permission for it. If the applicant is not satisfied with the percentage issued in the certificate, then he can appeal to the department. For information, let us tell you that Pooja Khedkar had applied again for the disability certificate, but once again her application was rejected.
Pooja Khedkar’s application was rejected by Aundh Hospital in Pune. The reason given was that on 23 August 2022, she had also applied for a disability certificate, whose investigation was also completed. In such a situation, the team rejected her application on the basis of the report, considering her investigation not appropriate. After this, Pooja Khedkar again applied for a disability certificate in the government hospital of Pimpri-Chinchwad, which was accepted.
Pooja Khedkar claims that she has mental and eye problems too
It is worth noting that Pooja Khedkar had told in the affidavit given to UPSC that she is mentally challenged and she also has problems with her eyes. At the same time, Pooja had also refused to give medical test several times while giving medical test is necessary. It has also been claimed in many media reports that Pooja’s medical test was to be held in AIIMS in April 2022, but during that time she did not attend it citing being Kovid positive.
