Hindi cinema’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan has confirmed the news of his son Abhishek Bachchan joining Shah Rukh Khan’s next film by confirming the news of ‘Amar Ujala’. ‘Amar Ujala’ was the first to break this news on Monday evening. This film has been named ‘King’. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Siddharth Anand, this film also stars Shah Rukh’s daughter Suhana Khan in the lead role.

Amitabh Bachchan re-shared a post by a fan of Abhishek, in which the fan had expressed his excitement about seeing his favorite star in a negative role against Shah Rukh in ‘King’. Sharing this post, Big B wrote in the caption, ‘Best wishes Abhishek… it’s time.’ Now Big B himself has confirmed the news that Abhishek Bachchan will compete with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘King’.


On Monday, July 15, news surfaced on social media that Abhishek Bachchan has been cast as the villain in ‘King’. While details about his villainous role have been kept under wraps, buzz is that he will play a dangerous villain. Details about Shah Rukh and Suhana’s characters in the film have also been kept under wraps.


According to reports, ‘King’ will have some great action sequences directed by Siddharth Anand, who directed the 2023 blockbuster ‘Pathan’. Anirudh Ravichander has reportedly joined the film’s team to compose the theme music. The shooting of ‘King’ is expected to begin later this year and it might hit the theatres in 2025.


Through this film, Suhana Khan will make her debut in theatres. Although she has already started her acting career with Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix release ‘The Archies’, she will debut on the big screen with ‘King’ and will be seen sharing screen space with her father for the first time. Apart from ‘King’, Abhishek also has Tarun Mansukhani’s ‘Housefull 5’, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Sanjay Dutt. It is scheduled to release in theatres on June 6, 2025.
