BYD The Haibao 07 EV will feature a similar design to its predecessor, with a closed front, slender headlights and distinctive water ripple light elements. Although specific dimensions are not known, the car is expected to be similar in size to the current Haibao, measuring 4800 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, 1460 mm in height and 2920 mm in wheelbase.
The Haibao 07 EV will incorporate a LiDAR system to improve intelligent driving features and will be based on BYD’s e-platform 3.0 Evo. The vehicle will also be equipped with an 800-volt high-voltage system to enhance motor performance and charging efficiency. Talking about powertrain options, the new car is likely to get the same configuration as the current Haibao, including rear-wheel and four-wheel drive variants with multiple motor options. Battery capacity and range are expected to be similar to the current Haibao, with two lithium iron phosphate blade battery options available.
The current Haibao is priced between 179,800 and 249,800 yuan. Haibao sales have declined recently, with just 813 units sold in June. When launched, the Haibao 07 EV will compete with pure electric cars such as the Tesla Model 3, Xiaopeng P7 and Zeekr 007 as well as petrol-based cars such as the Accord, Camry, Passat, Sagitar and Teana.
