Jharkhand News: Bharatiya Janta Morcha leader and MLA Saryu Roy’s party is preparing to contest the Jharkhand assembly elections together with JDU. An agreement has been reached between the two parties regarding this. Saryu Roy himself has given this information on social media. Assembly elections are going to be held in Jharkhand at the end of this year.

Earlier, Saryu Rai had also met CM Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren. Here, Saryu Rai met Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday and shared the picture of this meeting on ‘X’ and announced that JDU and Bharatiya Janata Morcha are going to contest the elections together. Let us tell you that Saryu Rai was earlier in BJP but he left the party before the 2019 assembly elections. He defeated former CM Raghubar Das from Jamshedpur East seat. Saryu Rai then contested the election as an independent. JDU is currently a part of the BJP-led NDA.

On the other hand, Saryu Rai, while sharing the picture of his meeting with Nitish Kumar, wrote, “Met Nitish Kumar at Patna Chief Minister’s residence. A brief but fruitful discussion was held about our possible role in the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections. An agreement was reached to contest the Jharkhand assembly elections together. The JD(U) leadership will soon take a decision on the remaining election formalities.” Saryu Rai is once again going to contest from Jamshedpur East seat which is considered a stronghold of the BJP.

Saryu Rai has previously been a minister in the Jharkhand government. He has also been an MLA from Jamshedpur-West seat. He won the election from here for the first time in 2005. However, in 2009 he was defeated by Banna Gupta of Congress. However, in 2014 he was again successful in winning from this seat.
