New Delhi. The Indian cricket team defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the fourth T20 on the basis of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s half-century and Shubman Gill’s captaincy innings. With this victory, the Indian team also captured the series. India has taken a 3-1 lead in the 5-match T20 series. Chasing the target of 153 runs set by Zimbabwe, the Indian team scored 156 runs in 15.2 overs without losing any wicket. The fifth and last T20 match of the series will be played in Harare on Sunday (July 14).

Yashasvi and Gill gave a brilliant start to the Indian team chasing the target set by Zimbabwe. Both of them took India’s score past 100 in 10 overs. This was the 100th match of Yashasvi’s T20 career. Yashasvi showed that he is a future superstar by playing a brilliant innings against Zimbabwe. He laid the foundation for the team’s victory with a century partnership for the first wicket along with captain Shubman Gill. Yashasvi scored an unbeaten 93 off 53 balls while Gill scored an unbeaten 58 off 39 balls. Yashasvi hit 13 fours and 2 sixes off 53 balls, while Gill hit 6 fours and 2 sixes off 39 balls.

Sikandar Raza played an innings of 46 runs
Earlier, India restricted Zimbabwe to 152 runs for 7 wickets with the brilliant performance of part-time bowlers Shivam Dubey and Abhishek Sharma. Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza played an innings of 46 runs in 28 balls. But India’s fifth bowler Abhishek (20/1) and sixth substitute Dubey (11/1) kept Zimbabwe under pressure with good bowling efforts. They controlled the middle overs by dismissing the dangerous opening pair of Wesley Madhevere (25 runs in 24 balls) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (32 runs in 31 balls). Captain Raza, however, took Zimbabwe to a score of more than 150 runs by hitting three sixes and two fours in his innings. All Indian bowlers got wickets except leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi.

Team India’s first series win under Gill’s captaincy
India won the second T20 match by 23 runs while the fourth match was won by a margin of 100 runs. This is Team India’s first series win under Gill’s captaincy. He has also made a splash with the bat in this series.
