Army soldiers were crossing the river in a T-72 tank near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Daulat Beg Oldi area of Ladakh. One of the soldiers who lost their lives due to rising water levels was also from Pauri district of Uttarakhand. After receiving the news of his sacrifice, a wave of mourning has spread in his native village.
Bhupendra Singh Negi’s wife lives in Dehradun to educate the children. His mother has passed away earlier. While his father also lives with him in Dehradun. The family of martyred soldier Bhupendra Singh Negi will reach his ancestral village Bisheld today. Bhupendra Negi’s body is expected to reach Lansdowne by late evening.
CM Dhami did not express condolences
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also condoled the sacrifice in the tank accident in Ladakh.
The news of martyrdom of Indian Army soldiers due to sudden rise in water level while T-72 tank was crossing the river in Ladakh is extremely sad. May God grant the souls of all the departed a place in His feet and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense sorrow.
