During this time, the mercury can reach 48-50 degree Celsius in some areas. The Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert for heat wave in six states. So far 60 people have lost their lives in the country due to severe heat and heat wave. Meanwhile, the demand for electricity reached a new record with 239.96 GW on Friday.

The Meteorological Department has warned of severe heat in Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh for the next five days.
