When the trailer of the film ‘Dhai Aakhar’ was released, it was decided that this film has to be watched. I was curious to see how the story of ‘After Pilgrimage’ would have been portrayed on screen? The story is from a time when writing letters was no less than a hobby.

Last year, people saw this film for the first time at India’s International Film Festival i.e. IFFI, Goa. There was also discussion that this film can become a new starting point for bringing Hindi literature on screen. After a long wait, its trailer was made public and now the film is ready to try its luck in theatres. This is a moment of atonement for those who wasted money in theaters watching worthless films of South cinema like ‘Devra’, ‘Kanguva’ and ‘Matka’. There is a story written by Amrik Singh Deep. The makers of the film have also kept his name in the film as the narrator. Asghar Wajahat has written the screenplay and dialogues on this story. These days, Rajkumar Santoshi is making a film based on his play ‘Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Nai’. Poet and lyricist Irshad Kamil along with Amrik Singh Deep, Asghar Wajahat have created the literary trinity of this film and that alone is enough to watch this film.
