Israel-Hezbollah Conflict: Israel has been carrying out vigorous attacks against the Iran-backed group Hezbollah for the past several days. During this time, Israel has broken the back of Hezbollah and killed many of its key people, including the group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah and his successor. Meanwhile, according to the New York Times report, Iran has asked Hezbollah to accept the terms of Israel’s ceasefire proposal and withdraw its forces north of the Litani River. On this, a top Lebanese official told Reuters on Monday (November 18) that this is the most serious effort so far to end the fighting.
Meanwhile, Israel said on Monday (November 18) that progress has been made in talks regarding the Lebanon ceasefire. On the matter, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said that its war against Hezbollah is not over yet. That would be the main challenge facing any ceasefire agreement, he said, although “some progress” has been made in talks. Speaking at a news conference in Jerusalem, Sa’ar said Israel was working on a ceasefire with the US. Israel, he said, wants Hezbollah north of the Litani River – about 20 miles (30 km) from the border. Step back.
Hezbollah threatened
Alarmed by the Israeli attack, Hezbollah said that political contacts are underway with its supporters in Tehran, Washington and Moscow. However, he also said that it has enough weapons to fight a long-term war and can continue firing rockets at Israel.
