BSNL Launches Intranet TV Service With More than 500 Live Channels

Government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the launch of the first fiber based intranet service. This TV service has been started in selected areas of the country. Last month, BSNL introduced this service called IFTV with its new logo and six new features. The company’s fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network will be used for this service.

Earlier the company had also launched Wi-Fi roaming. From this BSNL Customers will be able to access high-speed internet at the company’s hotspots across the country. This will reduce the data cost of customers. company In a post on social media platform Apart from this, it will also offer pay TV content and other live TV services.

The data used for streaming in live TV services of private telecom companies Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio is deducted from the monthly quota of the customers. This will not happen in BSNL’s IFTV service. The company said that the data used for TV streaming will be separate from the customers’ data packs and will not be deducted from the FTTH pack. BSNL will offer unlimited data for this service. Live TV service will be available to the company’s FTTH customers at no extra cost.

BSNL said that it will also provide support for popular OTT platforms and streaming apps like Amazon Prime Video, Disney + Hotstar, Netflix, YouTube and ZEE5. Apart from this, games will also be offered. However, the IFTV service is initially only compatible with Android TVs. For this service, customers can download the BSNL Live TV app from Google Play Store. To subscribe to this service, you will have to register for it after downloading the BSNL Selfcare app from Play Store. The popularity of OTT platforms and streaming apps has increased rapidly in the last few years. Because of this, their share in the consumption of entertainment related content is also increasing rapidly.
