Bangladesh Interim Government to Interpol : It remains in constant discussion in the politics of Bangladesh. The interim government of Mohammad Yunus of Bangladesh is making every possible effort for the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. However, Sheikh Hasina’s name has started being discussed once again in Bangladesh politics. However, this time the matter is different. Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina is currently in refuge in India. On the other hand, the interim government of Mohammad Yunus is trying to put pressure on India for the extradition of Hasina.

Yunus government is trying to bring back Sheikh Hasina

Actually, Sheikh Hasina was overthrown after huge protests in Bangladesh. After which Sheikh Hasina has taken refuge in India and the interim government of Mohammad Yunus took power in Bangladesh. Since then, the Yunus government has been trying to put pressure on India for the extradition of Sheikh Hasina. To which India has not responded yet.

America’s stance to put pressure on India

The Yunus government of Bangladesh had planned to put pressure on India with the support of America’s Joe Biden administration. But after Donald Trump won the US presidential election, the hopes of the Yunus government were dashed. Because Donald Trump had already given the statement that Hindus are being persecuted in Bangladesh. In such a situation, the problems of Bangladesh have increased further.

Yunus approached Interpol against Sheikh Hasina

The Yunus government is trying hard for the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Mohammad Yunus has now approached Interpol for the extradition of Sheikh Hasina. Mohammad Yunus demanded Interpol to issue Red Corner Notice against Sheikh Hasina. He hoped that 196 countries of the world involved in Interpol would put pressure on India regarding this matter. However, India’s reaction has given a big blow to Mohammad Yunus. India responded to this by saying that the Interpol notice is just a request, not a binding one.
