Delhi Dengue Cases 2024: The number of dengue, malaria and chikungunya patients is continuously increasing in Delhi. A huge increase in the number of dengue patients alone has been reported in hospitals and nursing homes. According to Delhi Municipal Corporation data, 4533 dengue patients have been reported so far in the year 2024. These also include 472 patients from the month of November.

According to the data released by MCD, 728 cases of malaria and 172 cases of chikungunya have been registered in Delhi so far this year.

9266 cases were reported in 2023

According to Delhi Municipal Corporation, 1072 cases of dengue were reported in the year 2020. Whereas 9613 cases were reported in 2021, 4469 in 2022, 9266 in 2023. A total of 472 cases have been reported in the month of November. Of these, so far 455 cases of dengue have been identified from MCD area, 1 from NDMC area, 15 from Delhi Cantt and 1 from Railway area. If this pace continues, there is a possibility that more cases will be reported this time than in the year 2023. This is because the next two months are considered very serious from dengue point of view.

728 cases of malaria were reported

As far as malaria is concerned, 228 cases have been reported in 2020, 167 in 2021, 263 in 2022, 426 in 2023 and 728 cases have been reported so far in 2024. These include 19 cases from last week also.

Number of Chikungunya patients 172

Similarly, the number of Chikungunya patients is 111 in the year 2020, 89 in 2021, 48 in 2022, 65 in 2023, and 172 cases have been reported so far in 2024.

Mosquito report positive in 270265 houses

Different campaigns of MCD are already going on to control the increase in cases of dengue, malaria and chikungunya in Delhi. These include works like spraying of medicines, inspection of houses, issuing legal notices to replace the bad conditions due to mosquito breeding.

According to the information received from MSCD, till now medicines have been sprayed in 21,20,717 houses in the corporation areas. Till now, reports of mosquitoes breeding in 2,70,265 houses have also come out positive. Legal notices have also been issued at 1,53,451 places.
