New Delhi. When the whole of Bihar is immersed in the glamor of Chhath festival, the state’s cricket team is in a bad condition. The Bihar team, which is playing Ranji competition at home, is playing like a novice in front of Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh has set a mountain of 616 runs in the match being played in Patna. For Madhya Pradesh, captain Shubham Sharma played an inning of 240 runs while Venkatesh Iyer scored 174 runs.

Madhya Pradesh batted 130.2 overs and scored 616 runs in the match. Its captain Shubham Sharma scored a double century while all-rounder Venkatesh scored 174 runs in 176 balls. These two batsmen made a partnership of 366 runs for the fifth wicket. Both Shubham and Venkatesh thrashed the Bihar bowlers. Shubham scored runs at a strike rate of 83.04 and Venkatesh Iyer at 98.86.

On behalf of Bihar, two bowlers Sachin Kumar and Himanshu Singh gave away a lot of runs. Sachin spent 211 runs in his spell of 43 overs. He got 4 wickets. Himanshu Singh took 5 wickets for 196 runs. In Group C of Ranji Trophy Elite, Bihar is at eighth i.e. last position with one point. Madhya Pradesh is at number 7 with 2 points.
