Rudraprayag: Today the doors of Yamunotri and Kedarnath Dham will be closed for winter.

The doors of Kedarnath Dham, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Ashutosh, the main one in Panch Kedar, will be closed for winter with rituals at 8.30 am today. Also, the Chal Utsav Vigraha of Baba Kedar will leave from Doli Dham for its winter seat Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath and reach Rampur for the night stay. Baba Kedar’s doli will be enshrined in Omkareshwar temple on November 5 for the six-month winter puja. Today, the doors of Yamunotri Dham will also be closed around 12 noon.

The process of closing the doors of Kedarnath Dham was started on Saturday. At 11 o’clock, the Panchmukhi idol of Lord Kedarnath was brought out of the store with proper rituals. On this occasion, the entire Kedarpuri echoed with the cheers of Baba Kedar. Chief priest Shivshankar Linga bathed the Panchmukhi Utsav idol with Ganga water. Religious leader Omkar Shukla and Vedapathi Swayamvar Semwal worshiped the Panchmukhi Utsav idol. After circumambulating the Kedarnath temple, the Panchmukhi Utsav idol doli of Baba Kedar was installed in the temple premises. Thousands of devotees visited the Utsav idol on this occasion.

Dr. Harish Chandra Gaur, media in-charge of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, said that the process of closing the doors will be started from 4 am on Sunday. The Jyotirlinga of Lord Ashutosh will be given the form of Samadhi. After this, as per the rituals, the doors of the temple will be closed for the winter season at 8.30 am. Also, Baba Kedar’s Panchmukhi Chal Utsav, leaving from Doli Dham for its winter seat, will reach Rampur on foot via Gaurikund, Sonprayag for night stay.

On Monday, the doli will reach Guptkashi from Rampur for night stay and from Guptkashi on Tuesday, it will reach Panchkedar Gaddisthal Omkareshwar Temple. Where with discharge of all religious beliefs, Panchmukhi Chal Utsav Vigraha Doli of Baba Kedar will be installed in the temple for six months of worship. On this occasion, BKTC CEO Vijay Prasad Thapliyal, officer in-charge Yudhveer Pushpwan, Kedar Sabha President Rajkumar Tiwari, former president Vinod Shukla, social workers Devanand Gairola, Arvind Shukla, Pradeep Shukla etc. were present.

Yamunotri Dham’s doors will be closed today

The doors of Yamunotri Dham will be closed on Sunday at 12:05 pm on the festival of Bhaiya Dooj. During the winter season, the festive idol of Yamuna ji will be present in the Yamuna temple located in Kharsali village. Where devotees will be able to see and worship him. Purohit Mahasabha President Purushottam Uniyal said that on Sunday morning, Shani Dev’s doli will leave for the Dham from Kharsali to take his sister Yamuna for Kapatbandi.
