According to Android Authority report AccordingAndroid experts have received a hint according to which Google may also bring the Quick Share file sharing tool to iOS and macOS. Quick Share is a popular data sharing tool for Android users that is also widely used in Chromebooks and Windows PCs. It works through a secure local network and makes data sharing very simple.

This feature is not available on Apple platform due to which users find it very difficult to send data from their Apple devices to Android. The latest API update indicates that this feature may now come to iOS as well. Earlier this tool was called Nearby Share which is now known as Quick Share. According to the report, a recent bug fix in the API suggests that the company may expand it to iOS.

Google’s Nearby repository reveals that a comment here hints at a service expansion. It is written in this comment that the device name is working properly for using Quick Share for iOS and macOS. However, the comment does not confirm that the Quick Share app is ready for iOS and macOS. But it can be guessed that Google is definitely preparing a background to implement it in future.
