Varanasi News Today: The festival of Dhanteras is being celebrated across the country today. There is a tradition of buying jewellery, clothes, utensils, vehicles and electronic devices on this day. In the same sequence, devotees also get the darshan of the golden form of Mother Annapurna in Kashi from Dhanteras itself.
This time on Dhanteras of the festival of lights Diwali, darshan of golden mother Annapurna is being received from Tuesday (29 October). Besides, treasures are also being distributed as blessings in the form of happiness and prosperity. Devotees are seen standing in queue since late night, eager to have darshan of the Mother Goddess.
Mother Annapurna’s doors opened on Dhanteras
It is said about Kashi that there are seven festivals and nine festivals. Some festival or the other is organized here 365 days of the year. In this sequence, Kashi is a city where treasures are distributed among the devotees as blessings on Diwali and Dhanteras.
It is described in the Sanatan Shastras that when there was chaos in the universe, Lord Shankar had asked for alms from Mother Annapurna and Mother Annapurna is known for being the nurturer of the entire world. Every year on the day of Dhanteras, the form of golden goddess Annapurna is seen in Shri Annapurna temple.
During this time, devotees also receive blessings in the form of treasure in the form of lava coins. The doors of the temple were missing since Tuesday morning. A large crowd of devotees gathered for the darshan and worship of Mata Annapurna. During this time a long queue of devotees was seen here.
Entry is being given through Bans gate
Devotees have been standing in queue since late night to have darshan at Maa Annapurna temple. According to the information received, the devotees are being allowed to enter Annapurna temple through Bansphatak route of Kashi. Devotees will get darshan today from 5 am to 11 pm.
Keeping in mind the convenience and security of the devotees, more than 250 soldiers have been deployed through Varanasi Police Commissionerate on the temple route and the temple. Apart from this, every suspicious person and object is also being monitored through CCTV cameras.
