The Indian cricket team probably made a mistake against New Zealand and bore the brunt. The team which Sri Lanka had badly trampled in the Test series considering it a child at home, created history by defeating India at its own home. This happened for the first time in 68 years that the Kiwi team defeated India in a Test series.

The defeat in the Test series against New Zealand is a big blow for the Indian team. The team, by defeating which Team India was planning to take a step towards the World Test Championship final, spoiled the work. Two consecutive defeats for Rohit Sharma’s team spoiled the equation going forward. Now every match has become do or die. The fans are shocked by the defeat in this test series. India has lost its first Test series at home since 2012.

Sri Lanka crushed and India lost
Just before coming to visit India, the New Zealand team played a two-match test series with Sri Lanka at their home. The team, which was considered inferior to Rohit Sharma, roared like a lion at home. Made a clean sweep of New Zealand and sent them back by defeating them 2-0 in the test series. After winning by 63 runs in the first match, the Kiwi team was defeated in the second match. Showed their strength by defeating the team by a huge margin of innings and 154 runs.

Panic due to India’s defeat
The question is that how did the team which Sri Lanka defeated so badly at home defeat India in its own home? While New Zealand’s bowlers destroyed Team India’s strong batting order for 46 runs in the first innings in the very first match, their batsmen scored above 400 against India. A similar scene played out in the second test also. India collapsed for 156 runs in the first innings and then for 245 runs in the second innings.

Mitchell Santner, who had never taken more than 3 wickets in an innings in first class till date, took 5-5 wickets in both the innings. Created a stir by dismissing a total of 13 batsmen in the match. Captain Rohit Sharma may keep defending the team but this defeat is the result of underestimating New Zealand.
