Farrukhabad: Everyone is troubled by the increasing pollution and inflation, but no big and better solution to this problem is visible far and wide. To get relief from this, electric vehicles and solar energy are being promoted, but there are no less difficulties in this path. A lot of pollution is involved in making the batteries used in electric vehicles and generating the electricity used to charge them daily. That is why it is said that although electric vehicles do not appear to emit smoke, there is a huge amount of pollution behind their operation. On the other hand, if there is solar energy, it does not provide enough electricity at night, during cold season and during rainy season. But everyone wants relief from pollution and expensive petrol and diesel. In such a situation, a farmer has made a unique bike.

In Farrukhabad, a farmer became so upset with the increasing vehicular pollution and the damage and diseases caused by it that he created a unique electronic bike. The farmer told Local18 that this electronic bike, made by mixing old bike, junk and some new parts, runs up to 50 km at a cost of about Rs 10. This bike also goes backward. The farmer has completely converted his 16 year old petrol bike into an EV electronic bike. The cost of making the bike was only Rs 30 to 35 thousand.

Collected materials to make e-bike by buying scrap and online.
Farmer Shrikant took some material from the old junk for the e-bike. After this, some parts were ordered online. After this, he learned from some big mechanics and also took advice. Then started work. After 10 to 15 days of hard work and trials, he completely converted the petrol bike into an electric bike. The farmer claims that the bike reverses easily. There is no peace in this either. Srikant told that after removing the petrol engine, a 60 volt battery of 30 thousand mAh was placed in its place. A 1,000 watt hub motor has been installed in the rear wheel.

How did the farmer get the idea of making an e-bike?
Shrikant, a farmer living in the district, does farming and runs a flour mill. He told that he had a 16 year old petrol-powered bike. Once he came out on the road, he saw that an old bike going ahead of him was emitting a lot of smoke. On this he realized that his bike might also be causing pollution. Many diseases also increase due to pollution. On this the idea of making the bike completely electric came to his mind.

To fully charge the battery of an e-bike, only one and a half units of electricity is required.
Farmer Shrikant claims that about one and a half units of electricity is spent in fully charging the battery once. Accordingly, it costs around Rs 10. Once fully charged, the bike travels at a speed of 50 km per hour up to about 50 km. If the battery is installed at the back of the bike, it can be run on both petrol and battery. Farmer Shrikant says that petrol-powered bikes go 50 to 60 km on 1 liter of petrol, which costs around Rs 108. In such a situation, the bike made by him is quite economical.

E-bike can carry up to 3 quintal weight at a time
Shrikant, a farmer who makes e-bikes, claims that even if the motorcycle is overloaded, the bike keeps moving forward. Two-three people can sit comfortably along with luggage. Its maintenance is also negligible. Petrol bike costs around Rs 1000 after traveling 2 to 4 thousand kilometres. The cost of making its engine is around Rs 6 thousand.

He told that the special thing about this e-bike is that it does not cause any pollution. It doesn’t even make much noise. Farmer Shrikant said that new petrol and electric bikes are becoming very expensive. In such a situation, those who have old and useless bikes can easily convert them into e-bikes. Some people with old motorcycles are also coming to him for information.
