BRICS Summit 2024: BRICS Summit 2024 is being organized in Kazan city of Russia. The two-day program has started from Tuesday (22 October), which will continue till 24 October. Representatives of BRICS member countries are going to participate in this event, in which the main 5 countries are – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The top leaders of all these countries have left for Kazan, where the Prime Minister from India’s side Narendra Modi Are attending. On the Chinese side, President Xi Jinping will attend and the responsibility of presiding over the meeting rests on the shoulders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Talking about BRICS group, it was established in the year 2006. Although, initially it was called just BRIC, but with the joining of South Africa in the year 2010, its name became BRICS. This name is made up of the first letters of the names of the countries included in the group. The main objective behind its establishment was to challenge the dominance of American and Western European countries in the world.

The five countries included in this have 40 percent economic share at the global level. Not only this, these countries have considerable military strength. If we talk about nuclear bombs, these 5 countries have a total of 6252 nuclear bombs. Of these, only Russia has the maximum number of 5580 bombs. At second place is China which has 500 and India which has 172. Whereas Brazil and South Africa do not have a single nuclear weapon.

Which country has how many nuclear weapons?
According to the report of Indo-Swedish think tank Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), India has 172 nuclear weapons. China has more than 500 operational nuclear weapons. According to the way China is emphasizing on increasing its military strength, its number can reach 1000 by the year 2030. China has been working continuously to make nuclear weapons for the last 3 decades. If we talk about Russia, according to the Arms Control report, its number is 5580, which is more than America.

Total 12,100 nuclear weapons in the world
At present there are a total of 12,100 nuclear weapons in the world. Of these, more than 9,500 atoms are activated. This means that with just one click they can erase any part of the world from the map. The surprising thing is that America and Russia alone have more than 90 percent of the total nuclear weapons. After that comes China’s turn. Whereas India is sixth in this matter. If seen in this way, the BRICS group has 51 percent of the nuclear weapons present in the world.
