Saudi Arabia-Iran relations: Israel has been in a continuous conflict with Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran for the last one year. Due to this conflict there is unrest in the Middle East. This has also affected the Saudi Arabia and Israel normalization agreement.

Earlier it was believed that the normalization agreement could lead to a change in the situation in the Middle East. But because of this conflict, Saudi Arabia is now improving relations with its traditional arch enemy Iran. After the assassination of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the Israel-Saudi Arabia normalization agreement has also been put on hold.

Saudi Arabia is strengthening relations with Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited Saudi Arabia before visiting other countries in the region including Iraq and Oman. During this period, there was also talk between the two countries regarding the creation of a Palestinian state. This month, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi met with the foreign ministers of Gulf countries. In this meeting, the Gulf countries assured Iran that they would remain neutral in its war with Israel.

Saudi Crown had raised the issue of creation of Palestinian state

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman raised the issue of the creation of a Palestinian state, saying that Saudi Arabia will not normalize its relations with Israel unless Israel changes its stance towards a Palestinian state.

Earlier on September 18, the Crown Prince addressed his Senior Advisory Council, saying, “Saudi Arabia will not stop its tireless efforts for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. We reaffirm that “That the Saudis will not establish diplomatic relations with Israel without it.”

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been rejecting the creation of a Palestinian state. Due to this also the relations between the two countries have not improved.
