IND vs NZ 1st Test: Team India’s shameful defeat in Bengaluru, lost the first test, New Zealand took the lead.

New Delhi. India had to face a shameful defeat in the first test match played between India and New Zealand. On the fifth day, Rachin Ravindra and Will Young batted brilliantly and led New Zealand to victory. The New Zealand team has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. The game could not start on the first day. Because it kept raining the whole day. After winning the toss, when the Indian team came to bat on the second day, it was all out for 46 runs.

No player from India could perform well. Rishabh Pant had scored the maximum runs of 20. A total of five players gave up their wickets at 0. On the same day, when the New Zealand team came out to bat, they scored 180 runs by the end of the second day’s play. Which included a brilliant inning of 91 runs by Devon Conway.

Rachin Ravindra’s century

On the third day, Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell came to open the innings for New Zealand. Ravindra played an inning of 134 runs in 157 balls and remained standing till the end. In his innings he hit 14 fours and 4 sixes. Apart from Rachin, Tim Southee played a total innings of 65 runs for his team. On the basis of these brilliant innings, New Zealand scored a total of 402 runs in the first innings. Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja took 3-3 wickets for India.

Sarfaraz-Pant’s innings turned upside down

Then on the third day, Team India came out to bat. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a great start to India. Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant half-century and was out after scoring 52 runs. Whereas, Jaiswal scored 35 runs. After this, Virat Kahli also scored a half-century and took India’s score to 231. On the fourth day, Sarfaraz Khan played a brilliant inning of 150 runs for India. Whereas, Pant was out on 99. India scored a total of 462 runs in the second innings. In this way, India could take a lead of only 106 runs against New Zealand.

New Zealand took the lead

Chasing the target of 107 runs, New Zealand started its innings with 0 runs on the fifth day. Openers Devon Conway and Tom Latham could not do anything special and were out on 17 and 0 respectively. Will Young and Rachin Ravindra batted brilliantly and led their team to victory. New Zealand has taken a 1-0 lead in the 3-match Test series.
